Saint Louis, Missouri Speed Traps
Interstate 55N near Germania/River Des Peres Crossing
Several chase cars lined up on on-ramp; usually around 4:30-6:00 pm using radar NORTHBOUND, which is against the rush-hour traffic flow, so it is easier for them to nail speeders. This is set up almost every day around this time
Interstate 44 near Jameison Avenue
You are on a sweeping curve to the right and speed limit is 60 mph. I have seen as high as 5 catch cars all with motorists at one time. Usually in afternoon hours. You have just entered St. Louis City ,imits and they welcome you with a ticket.
Interstate 70 near Express Lanes
About 1/2 mile after you enter the Express Lanes on I-70 to bypass the normal traffic lanes of I-70, St. Louis Metro Police will sit in on the right side on the shoulder. Near impossible to see them, because they will sit just around a curve. Also will sit further down along the Express Lanes on the right side. Still hard to see because of the road will rise a few times, and they’ll nab you just after to cress the hill. They occasionally will sit in the Express Lanes during evening rush hours, but the frequency is not as often as during the A.M. Rush Hour.
Interstate 64E near Science Center
The trap is setup for Eastbound traffic. There is a science center for kids that has an overpass with radar so the kids can see how fast cars are going. Problem is, .25 miles before that is a pedestrian bridge, where a cop stands and shoots the Eastbound traffic going towards downtown. On the other side of the hill, multiple cops wait. Regulars with fuzz busters know of the science center, so they disregard the alert and the cops know this.
Interstate 44 between Arsenal and Grand, going West
Marked car sits on westbound side of highway.
