Saint Louis, Missouri Speed Traps
Hwy 40/I-64 and Oakland Ave.
They wait for you to come right of the highway going 40 to 50 mph when the city streets are all 30, they are just waiting for you with their radars and they also follow you for a second to make sure you make a complete stop at the stop signs…then if you pass the stop sign test they’ll just give you a ticket for the speeding.
I-40/61 between the Boone bridge and Clarkson/ Olive
Because of high traffic coming from St. Charles county in the mornings, this 4+ mile stretch through the valley has become a speed trap. State Troopers are either sitting on the on-ramp from Airport Rd. going Eastbound, or at the Boone’s Crossing exit.
various points along 40W between Lindbergh and Olive
They have a large number of unmarked cars with dashtop lights, not the usual roof mounted set. They dont even have police license plates. very hard to spot without a detector.
I-44 and Arsenal
The cop sits at a distance a little before the highway entry ramp on Arsenal going east on I-44. This is a St. Louis City cop and he used a laser gun to get me. These cops are very unforgiving, so slow down when you approach that area.
Interstate 44 inside city limits
There is a "Fleet" of unmarked pickup trucks the DOT is using to stop ANY commercial truck, Semi, flat truck, box truck, dump truck, etc. The trucks they use are: Chevy Crew cab drk blue, Chevy Ext cab Drk Blue, Chevy Ext Cab drk Grey, Ford F-150 Black w/ Metro PD markings and a Grand Marquis drk grey unmarked. I always see them out there checking log books, but never seen them pull over regular motorists. Truckers Beware!
