Wayne, New Jersey Speed Traps
Intersection of Routes 23 & 46 & 80
Police are watching here for any unusual lane and speed changes, which are common as the lanes change around embankments. This seems to be an effort to enforce DUI laws, but the minor traffic violations give the police probable cause for the stop.
I-80 East and West bound
On 80 Westbound be especially careful of officers after the Route 23 Bridge there is a large grassy area behind the bridge that cops love to hide in. The area is perfect the highway narrows from 5 lanes to 3 in a relatively small area and the NJ State Troopers are sitting right there to write you a ticket. Most of the time they’ll only write a ticket if your over 75mph to get that 4 point $200 ticket.
Entire town, especially Rt. 23 and Hamburg Turnpike
Watch out for the UNDERCOVERS! They are supposed to be detectives, but will blow their covers for any old little moving violation, since nothing else goes on in the town. Watch out for a Metallic Gold DODGE INTREPID, Black CHEVY CAVALIER Z24 and a supposed ‘Plummers’ VAN. These guys will make you feel like driving 5 over the limit, is up there with the WTC bombing. Also watch out for cops hiding behind trees and other objects on the side streets in the spring and summer. These guys are ON FOOT with hand held radar guns. Not much you can do to avoid those, so stay well within the speed limit on the side streets.
