Montreal, Quebec Speed Traps
St. Jacques street
If you just came from the Ville-Marie Autoroute and emerging on the off ramp to St. Jacques st. try as much as possible to decrease your speed to at least 50km/h because if you are taking St. Jacques all the way to the west (Or heading NDG) .Or else you would might be caught by the MUC police that is situated at the corner of Prud’ Homme St. they are unmarked. This is the block right after Decarie St. the cops would be situated at the other side of the bridge to wait for you
HWY 520 / Cote des Liesse
The SQ (Surute Du Quebec) always rig this HWY. with speed traps. The way they do it is by having an unmarked vehicle driving unto the hwy. at the normal speed which is 70 km/h they forward calls of people who speed beyond 70 km/h to the other SQ officers that are waiting further down . They are usually situated near On-ramps for easy access and to be able to I.D. you they use Unmarked Impala SS 2000 edition and use Crown Victorias as their chase cars
Avenue du Parc just north of Avenue des Pins
Just as you go down the hill on Avenue du Parc heading direction south by the Mont-Royal park there is a cruiser waiting for speeders. Especially difficult to slow down since the ownward slope encourages speeding.
Provincial Highways
Provincial Highway Police officers like to ‘hunt down’ speedsters in Montreal. They’ll read your speed while on the service road, then it’s only a question of seconds before they catch up to you. They rarely loose their ‘prey’.
