Montreal, Quebec Speed Traps
Rosemont Boulevard near Pie IX et Viau Boulevard
In one of the entrance of the Olympic Park on Rosemont Bld near the 27th Avenue, there’s always a police car watching. The speed limit is 50 km.
State Highway 720 E
When you’re on the Ville Marie / 720E Autoroute going towards downtown and get off the "De Maisonneuve" exit, you have to go down the exit ramp and make a left and right swirve. Well, on your right swirve, I saw those suckers pulled up on the right side of the ramp about 250ft up the ramp with a radar gun pointed right at you. This is a very stealthy position since while you’re doing the swirves, you can’t see up the ramp since there are cement columns blocking your view and as soon as you can have a peak up the ramp it’s too late and you just got nailed. I suggest to go slow (50km/h) while you’re swirving and as soon as you can see up the ramp that the ghost is clear, start accelerating.
Notre-Dame Boulevard near St-Laurent Street
Limit is 70km/h in a 5 lane road. Average traffic is 115km/h. Going from Tunnel Ville-Marie to Boulevard Notre-Dame, right when the tunnel ends. The trap I got caught in at 119km/h had about 6 squad cars on a summer saturday afternoon.
Marcel-Laurin, between Thimmens and Henri-Bourassa
Cops hide in the parking of the shopping center facing Bombardier, just aside the SAQ. They hit cars heading north. Take it easy and keep the leftmost lane. Saw them hit like 10 cars while eating at the Vieux Duluth.
