Clemson, South Carolina Speed Traps
US Highway 76 near State Highway 93 Bridge
The officer hides between used cars parked at an Exxon station located between US 123 and highway 93 bridge. You can’t see the station until you pass under the bridge and round the curve going west. The speed limit is 45mph just before you reach the bridge. It drops to 40mph at the traffic light just before the bridge. Some times an officer will stand on the bridge with a camera radar while the other police are waiting between the Exxon and Ramada Inn.
US Highway 76 near South of Perimeter Road
Clemson City cops sit on the hill in the median between Old Stone Church Rd and Perimeter Rd. Site distance is limited and the speed limit is only 45 when the road is 4 lanes with a huge grass median in a rural area. I’ve seen 3 or 4 cars pulled over at once when they have this trap going full steam.
Isaqueena Trail near US Highway 123
going south on Isaqueena just as you pass over 123 there is a sharp downhill stretch. You can’t see over the hill until you get to it and a Clemson City cop will be sitting there watching
Hwy 93 between Hwy 123 and Central
The speed limit has recently been reduced from 45 to 35 between Bi-Lo and the Exxon gas station near Central. Cars are pulled over nearly every time I pass this stretch of road on a daily basis. This road is wide open and straight with two lanes in both directions. A 35mph speed limit is unnecessary.
