I want to thank the people who reported Olar. The speed limit on Highway 321 is 55. When I saw the first 45 mph sign while heading north on 321 I throttled back to 35 and was doing about 28 at the 30 mph sign. The car ahead of me was not very lucky as they seemed to follow the posted speed limits when they reached the signs. A Black Charger pulled them over.

Exact scenario as others that posted about Olar. Black Charger, very dark windows sitting close to 30 mph sign. Speed limit goes 55mph to 45 mph, then very quickly to 30 mph. Most likely tagged me at 43 while still in the 45 mph area.

The local police officer in a black Charger was issuing another driver a speeding ticket when he stepped out in the street and waved me over and issued me a ticket for doing 48 in a 30. He wasn’t even in or at his car when I came up on him and had slowed way below the speed limit to pass the flashing police car. This town is running a true criminal speed trap. I will not be visiting South Carolina with my family for vacation.

Definitely a speed trap. Ehrhardt is worse. I’m 59 yrs old, been travelling this way many years to Edisto Beach. Not any more. If you travel 100 miles out of your way to miss these towns, it’s worth it. We must all obey speed laws, but you can’t protect yourself from a traps and scams. Drive safely, but by all means, be aware.

Officer in a black Dodge Charger issued a ticket for $150 accusing me of doing 39 mph in a 30-mph zone. His word against my word. Who’s to say I wouldn’t get another ticket going back to traffic court to fight it.
