At start of Johnson City city limits speed drops suddenly from 45 MPH to 30 MPH; even though this is a 3-lane highway with passing in left of southbound lanes. Only ONE speed limit sign at city limits sign. State troopers/JC PD hide in front of closed bar at bank of land that occludes their vision until almost right beside them.

You are going 45mph leaving Carter County entering Johnson City limits which has been moved out to a rural area of 30 mph. The highway is three lane straight, sparse population. The J.C. along with the Highway Patrol park in hidden spots and stop many speeders daily. They are making thousands of dollars from Carter County residents going to work or for other reasons need to go to J.C. There is absolutely no reason for a reduction in speed at this point. Few if any accidents are reported in this area, nor were there before they lowered the speed limit.
