Red Light Cameras being Installed, Navy, Babe Howard, & Quit

Millington, TennesseeSep 23, 20100 Comments

Millington city council has gone mercenary and allowed a company to begin installation of three sets of "Red Light" Cameras on the following instersections: Navy & Hwy 51, Hwy 51 & Babe Howard, Hwy 51 and Quinto-Drummonds. They’re installing them now, so they’ll be running very shortly.. do so much as turn right after stopping or don’t clear the intersection before the yellow switches (three seconds) and you get a $75.00 ticket in the mail plus court costs.

"Mobile Speedtrap Unmarked Van now in Use"

Millington, TennesseeSep 23, 20101 Comments

If you’re on Hwy 51 North or South of Millington and see a white van parked on the side of the road.. be going 5mph less than the speed limit when you pass it. It’s one of those "Automated Traps". It takes your picture and sends a ticket thru the mail to the registered driver. It’s a white van/SUV with a distinguishing feature (spotlight on a mounting that’s mounted on the rear of the driver’s side of the vehicle.. it’s the flash for taking pictures at night). It has a tennessee Govt Service Plate. There is a cop inside the car in the driver’s seat, but he won’t chase you down.. just send you a ticket in the mail. It moves constantly, so I can’t give you an exact location, but since it’s run by the Millington Police.. it must stay within the city’s limit.

The speed limit changes from 55 to 45 from Millington to Frayser. But they do not change in the same places of the Hwy going the opposite direction (North)
