Arlington, Texas Speed Traps
Sublett Rd. between Cooper and Bowen
On Sublett between Cooper and Bowen, there are two streets(Fox Hunt and Polo Club Dr). Motorcycle cops clock drivers going both ways(East and West). They are usually there after 5pm. They also hang out on the bridge between Bowen and Polo Club.
US287 Kennedale Sublett Frontage
APD loves to sit on the US287 WB (NB) frontage road between Kennedale-Sublett and Little Road. The speed limit is 40 mph but everyone loves to speed when US287 is slow. They also sit at the 4 way stop on Hawkins Cemetery Rd to catch people who take that shortcut and don’t fully stop.
I-30 and Ball Park
Not only are they on the bridge now, they sit in the dark areas late at night off to the newly constructed shoulder. They have their lights off and the gun pointed. If you are speeding anywhere near here, you will be pulled over and never see the officer!
On the corner of Cooper & Wimbledon St.
It’s a couple of miles long stretch of road (30 mph) that leads to apartments and soccer fields. An officer will sit in either the new shopping ctr parking lot, or stand up and shoot the gun down the street. Another motorcycle cop will take off to apprehend you. My gf was pulled over by this guy, where he claimed that she was going 46 mph in a 30 zone, when there is NOT enough room to accelerate to that speed from where she turned out at. I know, b/c I go fairly fast (K40 detector) & the highest I can attain is 42. I’ve heard Arlington police are crooked & now I’m happy to NOT move there.
I-20 west-bound service road at Cooper St exit
The west-bound I-20 exit for Cooper St has a speed trap at the end of the exit ramp. I-20 traffic is going 65mph and at the end of the exit ramp it changes to 40mph. The service road is a 3 lane, one-way road so it seems like it should be much faster. Multiple motorcycle police often watch this spot.
