Austin, Texas Speed Traps
U.S. Hwy. 183 Between Duval Rd. & Oak Knoll Dr.
Group of 6 police cars pulling people over between Duval Rd. and Oak Knoll Dr.
U.S. Hwy. 290
I was pulled by the police and he asked me if I know how fast I was driving. I said 65. He said the speed limit is 50 miles. I was so shocked because I never saw a 50 mile sign on any blocks nearby. He said you if I keep driving, I will see the speed limit will become 55 after two blocks.
However, after he gave me a ticket and I drove away, I saw a speed sign of 65 miles/hour less than 1 minute.
Harris Branch Parkway Just Passing the Bridge Before Parmer Lane
This speed trap is located off-road on the right side at about 200 yards past Parmer Lane on Harris Branch Parkway, if you are heading to Highway 290 East. If you are coming on the opposite lane, speed trap will be on your left just passing the small bridge. This speed trap is hidden but, you will notice a small piece of post covered with black plastic. This trap is most of the time on, so be careful, it might be connected to police radars in the area.
Anderson Mill Road and Treeline
Very long School zone, DPS, APD, and Williamson County Sheriffs’ Departments patrol this area. It is a 40 mph speed zone until you get to the school zone, which is 25 mph. The police “love” this area. It is a major revenue generator for the local governments. Police seem to catch you doing 10/11 miles per hour over the speed limit all the time.
Spicewood Springs Rd & Forest Mesa Dr
This is mainly a concern for eastbound traffic on Anderson Ln. / Spicewood Springs Rd. The road splits between Mopac and Mesa for a few blocks. The cop sits on the last road that connects the eastbound and westbound parts of the road. Westbound traffic watch out for traps in the same area, but further west than this trap.
