Hwy 290 Just East of I-35

Austin, TexasMay 13, 20020 Comments

APD squad car usually parks in median (and low spot) of Hwy 290 just west of Hwy 183, radaring in both directions.

Hwy 360 over 2222 northbound lanes

Austin, TexasMay 13, 20020 Comments

Two motorcycles sit facing south on the hill between Lakewood Drive and the bridge that goes over 2222. They take advantage of the downhill traffic coming from the light at Courtyard Drive. I commute this route and have seen them there often.

Intersection of Convict Hill Road and Robert Kleberg Lane

Austin, TexasMay 13, 20020 Comments

Usually an APD car, sometimes accompanied by motorcycles. The cops park on Robert Kleberg and radar both directions of Convict Hill. Those headed eastbound and downhill on Convict Hill are particularly vulnerable since the speed trap is harder to see from the West and drivers tend to pick up speed in the steep downhill direction east.

26th and Salado – West Campus near the Deta Chi house

Austin, TexasMar 01, 20020 Comments

Police sit in the apartment lot facing Salado, behind the wall between the apartments and the fraternity house, and sometimes on Salado facing 26th next to the Delta Sig house. Both facing 26th. They wait for people to run the stop sign because it is hard to see and Salado is a small one way street. Make sure you stop!!!

North Lamar and Hwy 183

Austin, TexasMar 01, 20020 Comments

Motorcycle cop sits underneath the 183 bridge, if you coming north lamar and you getting ready to pass underneath bridge he will get you with his radar, so try to slow down the limit is 45 but changes to 35 before you get to the light.
