There are many speed traps between US 183 and Anderson Mill Road. The two primary traps are the elementary school and middle school, especially during drop off/pick up times. Make sure you drive the correct speed limits.

This area is worked consistently by the Cedar Park Police Dept. and Travis County Sheriff’s Office. The speed limit of 50 mph coming east from Lago Vista and Jonestown starts at Trails End Rd. and is clearly marked. It is worked primarily by motorcycle officers from the aforementioned agencies. IF THEY STOP YOU THEY WILL WRITE YOU. I know because I am one of the officers.

Everyone I know(including me) headed for the Cypress campus of Austin Community College in the morning has been ticketed here. It seems unfair that police would exploit students trying to get an educaion here, but that’s the way Cedar Park has always been – backwards!

Avoid anything above the posted speed limit(40MPH)

There are motorcycle cops that like to hide off the road just about anywhere they can.

When comming of the acess ramp when the freeway ends going north the speed limit is 45, motorcycle cops are always in the Golds Gym parking lot shooting radar and most people don’t realize that the speed limit is 45.. most people are usualy going 65 the speed on the free way, and its a expensive ticket.
