White SUV in the turning lane for Braewood Dr. The Braewood to Bethel School Rd is a 0.4 mile straight line. The SUV is behind a shallow hill crest, showing only SUV roof line and windshield from a distance. The radar is mounted relatively high up, allowing line of sight all the way down to Bethel School Road. Cars going from/to Beltline & 635 are checked. Northbound cars are pursued by U-turn, and stopped before Sandy Lake photo enforced intersection. Southbound cars are stopped before Bethel School Rd, although not discovering the SUV in southbound direction would require a lot of distraction or obscuring traffic. Speed limit 40 mph.
Northbound 121 x Freeport Pkwy
Motorcycle, measuring speed on northbound Frontage rd, about 3/4 mile after Sandy Lake Rd. From same spot can also enforce right turn on red for cars going from s.b frontage road to Free port Pkwy and Free port to s.b frontage road. People making the right turn will have little chance of spotting the motorcycle from 100 yards away, on the other side of the hwy 121 bridge, but the motorcycle will have no effort of catching up. Northbound on N. Coppell Road by Westminster Way
Turning from Sandy Lake Rd. onto North Coppell Road, driving northbound towards Hwy 121 and Lewisville, slow down! Already at the flat road section between Eastwick Drive and Minyard (right hand). The “telegraph road” is ideal for radar team waiting at Westminster Way (on your right, 1/2 mile ahead).
W Sandy Lake Road
W Sandy Lake & 121 intersection has been a bottle neck for some years, and now under construction. Cops are seen handing out tickets frequently on daily basis. Incentive: double fines on construction zone. Likely ticket spot in Coppell Q1/2008 til end of 2009.
W Sandy Lake Rd
Westbound Sandy Lake, 3/4 mile before reaching Hwy 121. When you see 4 Wheel Parts enterprise on your right, its your very last chance to step on the brakes. Righ hand view: look for patrol car on private drive leading to nearby warehouses. Also look for patrol cars stopped/parked in the median openings (3 spots). Speed limit is 40 mph, although many drivers are appears comfortable with 45..50. A completely renowated stretch of Sandy Lake, completed Q1/2008. Divided multilane (2+2).
