Denton, Texas Speed Traps
Sherman Dr. at Kings Row
Denton P.D. likes to sit in the fire station driveway facing south.
Between Teasley & 288 in Denton
There are about 10 police cars parked on the Southbound side of I-35 constantly pulling people over. This location is around a curve so it will be difficult to see the police cars. Slow down as you approach Loop 288. Be safe!
464 Area of I35 east, headed towards Dallas
Speed on I35 changes from 60 to 55 for a very short time, with only one sign as an indication. If you miss it you’re in trouble. Better not be going 63 or they’ll get you for going 8 miles over. I am speaking from experience. Nothing about this part of the interstate offers any indication that it is somehow different from the rest of the interstate, so be warned. Stay alert for these signs, because you’ll get a bogus ticket otherwise.
After 77 on 288 Eastbound
There is an unfinished driveway to the back of the UNT Discovery Park which State Troopers and Denton Police often park on to catch speeders. They will often hide behind Trucks and Construction vehicles.
