South Dr. & Trail Lake

Fort Worth, TexasFeb 27, 20031 Comments

As you go down South Dr. going away from TCU or University St. You come upon a hill which is in the middle of a school zone…which starts about 100 or so feet before the hill…as you approach the hill the officer is allready there and is at an angle where you cannot see him and he can still shoot you and get your speed…most often seen in the afternoon right around 2-4pm.

Vickery between University and Montgomery Westbound

Fort Worth, TexasFeb 24, 20030 Comments

Eastbound Vickery from Forest Park toward Montgomery (just West of University overpass). FW’s finest occassionally set up on the downhill down ramp where the speed limit goes from 50 to 30 in 20 feet at the end of the down sloping off ramp. They hide in trees on the South side of Vickery pointing up at the ramp and get drivers going 50 in a 30mph zone where they meet. One would have to nose-dive the car on the downsloping offramp to slow to 30 by the time they see and reach the 30mph sign. 2 FW Police were positioned out of their patrol cars just giving a continous flow of “drive through”” service. I suggested they do something more useful with our tax money besides abuse residents in a spot that has no danger of accidents but a convenient hunting spot for ticket pushers.”

FAA & Diplomacy

Fort Worth, TexasFeb 23, 20030 Comments

One or two Fort Worth police sit in the turn lanes on FAA Blvd. between Amon Carter and Valley View. They will pull you over for ANYTHING and the speed limit is 30 which is very slow for a 4 lane street.

I-30 East or Westbound going underneath the I-35 bridge

Fort Worth, TexasFeb 22, 20030 Comments

This one sucks man. I routinely drive this route to work westbound on I-30 to work. Well, right before you get to 35, there is a VERY subtle speed limit change that goes from 65 (I think, or maybe 60) to 50 mph. There is no reason for the change, because there are no entrances or exits on the freeway until well after 35. The officer actually caught me about 1/2 a mile before I even went under the bridge. It’s a stinkin’ four-lane freeway and the speed limit is 50. There was no construction or anything at the time, just an officer right over the hill that you hit before the bridge waiting to get someone that never noticed the speed limit sign that’s right beside an exit sign.
