Houston, Texas Speed Traps
West road. B/W Beltway 8 and Jones road.
Cops sit in the middle of west road in the late night hours. The road is pitch black. You cant see them until your right up on them. If you drive with your brights on, they will flash you with theirs once you get near them. I have a rador dectector and I pick them up hiding all the time on this road.
Exiting from downtown or I-45 north or south on to Allen Parkway
During day time stops, HPD sits at the first pull over area on the right hand side traveling towards Montrose/Studemont. One officer points the gun at traffic, while another points several cars in to the pull over area. I was in the far right hand lane of the three lanes of traffic, going BELOW the speed limit while other vehicles raced past me. I happened to be going slow enough to be flagged down. I was issued a ticket for a passing vehicle’s clocked speed. I’ve seen this happen on numerous occasions. At night, they pull out after drivers. A few stations and courts are near by, be warned.
Chimney Road, between Memorial and Woodway
30 mph speed limit, most cars are going 40. K band during PM hours and at night, enforced by the local Constable.
I-10 @ 610 Underpass
East and West bound traffic. When you are heading W on I-10 be carefull on the overpasses but be ESPECIALLY carefull when you get to the section where the highway goes under 610 (both ways). There is a pillar there (left if you are going west, right if youre east), The cops USUALLY hide RIGHT next to that pillar, in a small space that, curiously, can fit one vehicle almost perfectly.Theyll pull upthe spot and back their car in, and when they do this you cant see them back they are tucked neatly into the concrete median. Just slow down there because you probably wont be able to see the cop car until youre right on him (or her).
Southbound shepherd just south of I-10 past the train bridge
The cops will be in the parking lot of the business park on the left that is before the MacFrugal and kroger parking lot. They stand there and point to people to pull into the lot.
