North 610 Loop between I-59 and Holcombe east bound

HPD usually sits just past the overpasses making it too late to see them as you come over the rises. Although this is during rush hour, traffic in this direction travels at or above the posted 60 mph. Usually you will find them sitting on the inside service lane waiting. I’ve found that if I keep my speed no more than 5 mph over they don’t bother with you. I have gotten a ticket for doing 71.

Queenston between Spencer and Forest Heights

The Harris County Sheriff will sit in a median between these two streets in the early morning hours when it is dark. They are generally two cars sitting facing opposite directions. They have been know to stop more than one car at a time. They have also be seen writing tickets in the rain. So anytime in the early morning hours are a bad time in this area.

This Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy sits in a local church parking lot and runs his radars. There is a large sign that blocks your view of him until it is to late. He is generally out there from 630am – 1130am.

On the feeder road beside hwy 59 after going over the San Jacinto River Bridge heading North

Police park in a parking lot right after you come up an incline in the road. The trap is right before the speed limit switches from 40 to 55. When coming from Humble you have to stay on the feeder because they do not let you enter the freeway for about 5 miles because of construction. The speed limit on the freeway is 55mph. I think the speed limit should be 55mph because they are using the feeder as a temporary freeway. I asked the officer why he stopped me instead of the cars in front of me who were going the same speed. He said I was the one there when he turned on his radar, he told me it takes him 15 minutes to stop someone, ticket them, return to his spot and turn the radar on again. So every 15 minutes they write a ticket.
