Speed Limit is 70 mph but goes to 55 without leaving very little distance to slow down. KXXV Channel 25 in Waco, Texas did a story a few months back about Lott, Texas being a speed trap.

Be sure to accelerate only after passing the speed limit signs. The tendancy is to ticket drivers leaving town. Officer waits for an inordinate amount of time before approaching vehicle. Will ticket for 1 mph infraction.
State Highway 77 near Blinking light in town
Entering and leaving town one is in open country and the speed limit is 55 MPH. Hundreds of tickets are given in these two places.
State Highway 77, 1/2 mile past only red light in town
Lott, TX population is 753, one red light. Heading south on Hwy 77, Officer parks behind billboard on left side of road about 1/2 mile past light. 55mph sign on right posted right before billboard. Just about the point where average driver is accelerating back to 70 mph.
