Anywhere in Shavano Park is a major speed trap. The main sections to watch for are on NW Military between Loop 1604 and Huebner Road. Also beware of the small section of road where the speed limit drops to 35mph on DeZavala between NW Military and Locke Hill Selma.

SAPD motorcycle patrol are regulars in this location. Primarily between IH-35 South and Pleasanton Rd. They hide just out of view in the side streets and nab you as you drive along the very busy Southcross Blvd. Posted speed limit is 35 mph but the street can easily handle traffic at 45-50 mph.

On Braun Road outside Loop 1604, a sheriff car will sit hidden on the side of the road and wait for drivers that go both ways. the speed limit here is 40 mhp. but there is a sence of going extremely slow when doing this speed because is such a lonenly road and for some reason the ticket dispencing increases at the last week of the month.
tell me please that “the cuote”” its only a myth. “

410 Loop

San Antonio, TexasMar 14, 20052 Comments

They wait on either NE 410 or NW 410, under the Starcrest overpass. My fiance got pulled over after a 12 hour shift at work for speeding, (he was on his way home to take care of his 89 year old mother who had dementia and was home alone) and was arrested for having two drinks! The city has gotten a couple of thousand dollars out of us, and ever since then (12-2004) there have been at least one cop (usually two cops) on one side or the other. It’s ridiculous… purely revenue purposes.
