Portsmouth Boulevard near Interstate 664

Chesapeake, VirginiaDec 23, 20070 Comments

When you are on Portsmouth Blvd coming from Chesapeake Square Mall or coming from Lowe’s towards the mall, there are police crusiers with radar in the median just after the top of the overpass in either direction trying to catch you going more than the posted 45 mph. You can’t see them until you’re already over the top of the crest and then it’s too late. I’ve seen them catch people all the time. Or, they sit right at the light into Lowe’s and pull you into the Lowe’s parking lot to give you a ticket.

Country Club Boulevard near Cedar Road

Chesapeake, VirginiaNov 26, 20070 Comments

Country Club Blvd is a neighborhood, but going out of it – to Cedar Road it becomes 2 lanes on both sides of a medium – and it has a "feel" of being able to go faster than the 25mph neighborhood speed limit. The sign is not posted on the exit side of the neighborhood, however there is one on the entrance side. Many neighbors have received a ticket existing the neighborhood, including my husband – at 6am – when there was no other traffic or children. They seem to monitor for a couple of months – and then stop for a while – and then come back after people get "careless" again. In the neighborhood where there is two lanes – 25 mph seems normal – but where it splits to 4 lanes – 25 feels slow.

Interstate 64/264 near Interstate 664 North Bound

Chesapeake, VirginiaNov 06, 20070 Comments

When 64 and 264 combines and become 664 going north you will be coming off hill turning slight curve and it really to late by then the State trooper has you in his sight. Because there is traffic coming on to the highway right at that turn so Trooper has the advantage on you coming off that curve.
