Interstate 464 Southbound near Poindexter Street

Chesapeake, VirginiaJun 14, 20070 Comments

As you pass the poindexter exit you will start to come over a large hill in the interstate. At the bottom of this hill is where cops will sit waiting for you to pick up speed coming over the hill. There is a large tree or something there which makes it hard to see the car until you are about half way down the hill which is too late to slow down. If you pay close attention when coming over the hill to the cars in front of you most of the time you will see lots of people hitting their brakes. Which if you didn’t know hitting your brakes makes the radar lock right on to you. Always just take your foot off the gas. Anyway this gets lots of people and I almost got a ticket here too but got off- thank you Mr. Cop :). Also sometimes they sit on the opposite side underneath the overpass. I don’t see them there as often as at the bottom of this hill. Good luck to you all!

US Highway 168 By-Pass near US Highway 168

Chesapeake, VirginiaJun 08, 20070 Comments

All along the US-168 By-Pass, especially after the Intracoastal fly-over bridge, the city has numerous units stationed at different sites to enforce the 55mph speed limit. This is a controlled access toll road that was designed to help the tourists avoid congested traffic on their way to the Outer Banks in N.C. and the road is basically through country areas. Most other areas within Hamptn Roads has an increased speed limit of 60-65MPH but here, the city of Chesapeake makes sure that you stay on 55mph. They love to take your money.

Campostella Road

Chesapeake, VirginiaMay 17, 20070 Comments

Going towards Norfolk, coming from Chesapeake using Campostella road; when you cross the bridge (not the Campostella bridge – but the bridge that connects Chesapeake and Norfolk) you’ll see a cop at the bottom of the bridge sitting under a tree. He has a radar pointed on you as soon as you come off the bridge (mind you, its a Norfolk cop and not a Chesapeake cop), and if you aren’t finding some magic potion that takes you from 40-30 in a split second, you’ll guaranteed to get clocked. Sometimes by the time you notice, its too late. Never fails, I see someone get pulled over everyday for this, most commoningly in the morning.

Greenbrier Parkway near Interstate 64

Chesapeake, VirginiaFeb 19, 20070 Comments

Cops often sit on the greenbrier mall side of the I-64 overpass. They sit either right in the midean on the grass or off to the right side behind the guard rail. As soon as the reach the top of the overpass they radar, very common.
