Kempsville Road near Providence Road

Virginia Beach, VirginiaSep 09, 20080 Comments

Going NORTH on Kempsville, the speed limit changes from 45 to 35 once you cross Providence Road. Cops patrol the entire length of this road targeting locals not paying attention and tourists who don’t see the sign (not very well advertised). Locals who know the cops hang out there do slow down.

Indian River Road near Ferrall Parkway

As your going down Kempsville rd, you veer slight right onto Indian River rd. 1/10 of a mile on the right is a big church with a parking lot right next to the street. I see them shooting radar from there once a week.

Wellsford Drive near Old Dam Neck Road

Virginia Beach, VirginiaJun 25, 20080 Comments

Speed limit is 25 as it should be in this residential area of Ocean Lakes. Police sit in Wellsford Ct on Wellsford Drive. People regularly speed through here and the police regularly ticket them. I am all for it. My kids live in Ocean Lakes so SLOW DOWN in the residential areas!

Oceana Boulevard

Virginia Beach, VirginiaApr 22, 20080 Comments

When traveling north on Oceana Blvd, just before the little stopping area where people often watch the jets fly by, there’s a tiny road hidden behind huge trees, and driving home from school at least once a week a cop is hiding behind the trees so you can’t see him. The speed limit changes from 50 to 45 right before that, and the cop, usually on a motorcycle so he’ll be less likely to be seen, strictly enforces this.
