Byron, Wyoming Speed Traps
Main Street
West end of town, before you even see any houses. You are warned to slow to 40 mph so many feet ahead. Then the limit is quickly lowered to 30. Since you are going downhill when headed East your car won’t slow to 30 without some heavy braking. It cost me $94 to learn that all towns in that area are cashing in on tourists. You can’t appear in court because you’re out of state. You are obliged to send money to City Hall and they can spend as they wish.
Main Street from one end of town to the other
It,s a good idea to set the cruise down the main street…this is how they pay for their Fireworks on the 4th of July
Main Street in the middle of town
Tagged me for 36 in a 30 zone going west through town ( to Yellowstone ). The ticket is supposed to be mailed to their City Hall ( not a court ). When I offered to mail it to the court, I was very forcefully told that I’d mail it to the City Hall. Same as another poster, a car with Wyoming tags was ahead of me traveling visibly faster than I and got a pass. Watch what you say and admit to, they use video ( with audio ) cameras in their cars.
Main Road
They sit on the side of the road on the outskirts of town so you have to slow down at least 100 yds before town.
