Cambie St. Bridge northbound

Vancouver, British ColumbiaSep 23, 20100 Comments

This happend only once to me last summer in 17+ years living in Vancouver. I was pulled over when coming down the bridge towards downtow. I thought I slowed down enough to get by, but that did not work. I did not see a single cop with a radar there, so I am guessing they caught me earlier on the bridge and radio in the car details. There were many cars pulled over before and after mine. This is a perfect spot to put the foot slightly down and a great money maker for the city or whoever gets the ticket cash.

Around 7pm there’s a good strip after the W.57th Ave light before the W.49th Ave light. Just before some house’s tall trees so you won’t see them until they jump out.

Who would’ve thought cops would have speed traps going UPHILL? Well that’s what you think, and the cops know this very well! Northbound on Oak Street between Park Drive and West 49th Avenue is a nice long stretch that is usually not plagued by congestion and drivers usually get a little gas happy during this stretch. The cops love to jump out and surprise you in their bright yellow jackets just as drivers reach the end of the uphill stretch, so watch out! They’re there usually from late morning to early afternoon!
