El Cajon, California Speed Traps
North Westwind Street near Chatham Avenue
Police park on Chatham and watch the 3-way stop sign. It is very easy to see the other two approaching lanes when you approach the stop sign. You can easily approach the sign at a high rate of speed and blow through the sign after seeing no other cars are approaching.
Lexington Street near Third Street
The police hide in the Church’s parking lot at the north east corner of Lexington street to monitor the intersection’s stop sign.
Chase Avenue near Mollison Road
The officer sits on the West bound side of Chase, hidden behind some bushes and the entrance sign to the first set of apartments as you pass over Mollison. He gets traffic going in both directions.
Jamacha Road near Chase Avenue
If you are travelling south-bound on Jamacha Road just before you reach Chase Avenue, there is a small school and a 7-11 at the base of a large hill. Police officers literally stand on the sidewalk facing south-bound traffic with a radar gun and if you are speeding, they actually step into the roadway and herd you into the school parking lot. I drive this route at least 4 times a day and I’ve seen as many as 3 police cars in the parking lot with the lot nearly full (5-7 cars) of speeders all getting tickets. I don’t know if this site allows pictures but it’s quite a sight to see all those angry motorists.
El Cajon Boulevard near Chase Avenue
When you are going 8 east and exit El Cajon Blvd after the first light there is usually 1 or 2 motorcycle cops sitting on the side street right past the BMW Dealership. Most people that go that way everyday know they are there but the ones that don’t usually get busted because you are fresh off the freeway.
