El Cajon, California Speed Traps
Heading West on Washington Ave. about 2 blocks before you reach El Cajon Blvd., cops sit in an apartment complex parking lot on the right. Look for the green block wall and they’ll be there, usually in the early morning hours. Got a ticket from them and have seen them there a couple of times since then.
Got a speeding ticket here, despite some of the traffic going faster than I was. Speed trap or not – this is where I got the ticket. Be ready – they sneak up on you.
The posted speed limit is 35 mph. It’s easy to go faster if you miss the sign. Patrol car is on right shoulder within a few hundred yards of the freeway.
When travelling north on Hwy 67, there is almost always a CHP just past the construction zone north of Prospect Ave. He sits behind the white temporary barrier wall. Sometimes he is further up, just north of the Woodside to 67 on-ramp hiding behind the tree.
4 way stop has been newly added at this location. Police are sitting on Redwood Ave.
