Redding, California Speed Traps
Hilltop Drive near Peppertree Street
Ever since the repaving of upper (North) Hilltop, motorcycle RPD have been very strictly been enforcing speed traps. They are mostly just past the I-5 overramp near the new Chuckie Cheese and can be hidden from there until Showtime Video. Doesn’t seem to be so bad at night but be careful during early morning all the way until PM rush hour.
Benton Drive near Quartz Hill Road
I have noticed this trap to be more frequent lately. RPD motorcyle officers will be parked along Benton Drive past Quartz Hill and the golf course but before reaching Market Street. For the most part they will be hidden in an apartment complex just past the railroad tracks hidden behind a bush. Impossible to see until the very last second, be careful
Interstate 5 near State Highway 299
The northbound trap starts at the 299 East jct and the CHP love to sit on the onramps all the way to Shasta Lake. The South bound is just the opposite. These traps are especially heavy during the summer months around the Oasis
Rd ramps.
State Highway 273 near Canyon Street
Heading So bound on 273 just past the Casino the road makes a Left turn, just after the corner there is a dirt pull out I’ve seen RPD and CHP both sitting there. All time during the day.
Railroad Avenue near Grandview Street
Just as your heading on South on Railroad ave, you go up a small hill, at the crest of the hill I’ve seen RPD using there Radar its Posted as 40 but most people drive it a 50+.
