Denver, Colorado Speed Traps
Between S.Quebec St. and S. Quebec Way on E. Florida Ave
Two motorcycle cops tagged me the other day for $110. 37mph in a 25mph zone. They hide behind parked cars and tag going either direction. Just walked out and waved me to the side. Impossible to see. I have since tested going the speed limit and end up with a tail of half a dozen cars35mph is the average.
Pena Blvd
Once they get you on "their" road, they WILL stop you and they WILL ticket you.
15th Street (Southbound)
While traveling past Little Raven St. the road dips under a bridge and when it rises there is usually one police officer standing off his bike at Delgany St. and waves you over. Has been know to wave over mutliple cars.
Monaco PKWY between Evans and Hampden
One day I turned left off of Hampden going northbound on Monaco. The police were very tricky with this speed trap as they neither employed the motorcycle or car. Rather a tag-team with radar guns were hiding behind big electrical boxes (impossible to see) and simply stepped into oncoming traffic signaling people into the side street. This is the most deceptive tactic I have ever seen. The speed limit is 35 but it is not uncommon to go over 40.
Eastbound Alameda between Holly and Monaco
Officers (usually motorcycles or marked cars) will wait on side street as you descend down a hill. Speed limit in this area is 35 but it is not unreasonable to go over 40 and because you are descending the hill, its very hard to see the cop until its too late.
