Park Avenue West at I-25

Denver, ColoradoOct 01, 20020 Comments

Going northbound on the 8-lane bridge over the train tracks toward the I-25 interchange the speed limit is 35mph. There are no side roads at all, and no one drives less than 45mph on this section of road. The cop sits in the parking lot of the convenience store/McDonald’s, mostly hidden behind the clutter of signs.

Mississippi Ave between Colorado Blvd and University

Denver, ColoradoSep 19, 20020 Comments

The trap is mainly patroled by motorcycle cops but I’ve seen cars there as well. They normally target east bound traffic east of Steele St. But I’ve also seen them west of Steele clocking west bound traffic before you get to University. The speed limit is 25.

Montview Blvd. near Syracuse

Denver, ColoradoSep 18, 20020 Comments

There is a school at the intersection of Syracuse and Montview, and Motorized Patrols frequently nail people on the Montview stretch between Syracuse and Yosemite. Every morning they are out and will even follow you sometimes if they don’t get you at first. Stay below 25mph as penalties are harsh for going any more than 5 miles over posted speed.

Northbound E-470 at 64th Ave. (just south of Pena Blvd.)

Denver, ColoradoSep 17, 20020 Comments

Police sit on the on ramp from 64th Ave. to northbound E-470 (hidden by the 64th Ave. overpass) waiting with radar!

S. Steele St. between Mississippi and I-25 at the Archdiocese of Denver sign

Denver, ColoradoAug 15, 20020 Comments

I have frequently seen (and one time nailed by) two motorcycle cops in this area. They park their motorcycles behind the Archdiocese of Denver sign and one of them stands on the sidewalk across the street with the radar while the other waits on his bike. They appear to mainly target north bound traffic. The Steele St. bridge across I-25 is currently closed, but I"m sure when it reopens they will be at it again.
