This speed trap is conducted by the St Petersburg P.D. They line up about 8 cars and the operator of the radar gun is in an unmarked pick-up truck just over the bridge to Isla Del Sol west bound on the Bayway they radio ahead to the waiting cars which are just east of Bayway south. The road to Fort Desoto. This is about the most sneaky operation that I have ever seen. The speed limit is 45 and the traffic flow usualy moves at about 55mph.

5th Avenue near Park Street

The crossing between 5th AVE and Park Street where Admiral Farragut Academy is. In the morning from 7:15-8:00AM and from 2:45-3:30PM there is a 15 MPH school limit which is hardly posted. no flashing lights jsut a small sign with the times on it. Occasionaly you will have about 15 police cars lined up on a smaller road on that stretch and one person stands radar’ing while the other cars pick you off.

Pinellas Bayway Parkway near US Highway US 19/34th Street

On the Pinellas Bayway, directly in front of Eckerd College heading eastbound, just past the westbound toll booth. Frequent multi-agency speed traps, usually with one car or officer with radar and multiple chase cars. The radar car can be off to the south side, or on the median.
