They sit here all the time during the day. Just north of 54th Ave N on 1st St. They sit way back from the road at a Progress Energy power station (east of 1st), just lurking, waiting. Rarely does my radar detector go off so I believe they are on break or just doing visual guesstimates. But they are there a lot.

A few times per month there are 4-8 squad cars waiting in a line on a side street just south of the 54th Ave South/31st St South Albertson’s. They pull cars over non-stop for hours, so there’s a good chance you’ll get a warning when you see the lights from a current stop or multiple at once. They are watching northbound and southbound traffic traveling on 31st Street South, on which the posted limit is 35mph.

34th St. South Street

The speed limit on this major thoroughfare changes from 45 mph to 35 mph…and there is only one sign indicating this for a long distance…if this initial sign is not seen, the driver will continue the 45 mph speed for about a half mile…supposedly speeding past a high school. The traffic board should move the initial sign, as it is hard to see mixed in with all these business signs…and they should definitely post the lower speed limit in front of the school. In fact, there are so many distractions on this major road with business signs…the speed limit signs should be in the median in the middle of this divided street. That way, the chance of seeing them is increased greatly.

North 13th Avenue near North 37th Street

Four-way stop sign intersection…police look for single occupant vehicles (no witnesses) and they “cherry pick”” the drivers who do not count to three after stopping…very easy prey as virtually no one waits three seconds to proceed. The cops bully the so-called perpetrators and refuse to discuss the situation at all.”
