Tampa, Florida Speed Traps
East Broadway Avenue-Half A Mile From 50th Street
Two Marked Cars (T.P.D.) sit in a business parking lot (mainly after dark) targeting traffic going in both directions. I’ve even seen them parked at the entrance of my driveway! Speed limit is 40 and its easy to want to push the pedal after the long light right up the road (intersection of East Broadway Ave & 50th St).
Westshore and Azeele to Beech Park
Cop sits on right hand side coming from Kennedy to Westshore going South. I see them nailing people all the time and its when I come from school at night so its always around 10:30 pm to 2: 00 am. Speed Limit is 35mph
Veterana Highway south just before 275
About a mile before you reach 275 coming south from Vet, about twice a month ( Some where between Mon-Thurs) you will see 15 or so cars pulled over by a battery of police motor vehicles. Unmarked, marked and motorcycles await around lunch time. If it is raining, don’t worry.
Regents Park Drive and Bruce B. Downs at Wal-Mart
Lately a Tampa police officer has been sitting in his car about 100 feet off of BB Downs, on Regents Park Drive (north entrance by the golf club). I believe he is taking radar of cars on BB Downs going north bound.
Fowler ave between the interstate and USF
Most people look for a trap on the side of the road or median and wouldn’t even think of looking up 20 feet. Fortunately my husband pays attention to heavy equipment…and saw Tampa’s finest up in the basket of a manlift, "shooting" traffic.
