Buffalo Grove, Illinois Speed Traps
Deerfield Parkway near Barclay Boulevard
Buffalo Grove Police will often sit in the driveway to the fire dept. training center across from Siemens. They will either be partially concealed by the big green electric box orand/or the bushes on the other side of the drive.
Deerfield Parkway near Milwaukee Avenue
Be careful and Do Not go over 40mph going east or west on Deerfield Parkway from Milwaukee Ave to Riverwoods (just before I94 ramp). There are no street lights and it is totally wooded on both sides. Cops are planted all over the place. Be careful after dark
Arlington Heights Road near State Highway 83
Buffalo Grove Police set up at the intersection, checking for speeders as well as for people blowing the red lights. The cops sometimes sit on a motorcyle with handheld radar (seasonal) or stand on foot disguised as surveyors or people collecting for charity. The cops on foot radio a waiting car.
Milwaukee Avenue near Riverwalk Road
There almost always is a policy officer sitting in the hidden drive before the Animal Hospital. He waits for commuters coming off of Lake Cook Rd heading North/West on Milwaukee. The traffic light there has no turn on red but the sign is in the median so if you don’t look forward through the intersection there you could miss the sign. They wait to grab those who disabove that law. I watch him from the window of the tower facing Milwaukee off of Riverwalk Drive and he usually averages about 7 cars a day.
Lake Cook Road near State Highway 21/45
As you travel either east or west on Lake Cook Road at the Highway 21/45 overpass the posted limit is 45 miles per hour. Because this stretch of Lake Cook is three lanes, wide open and smooth as glass drivers will routinely travel well in excess of 45 MPH. Because of this the Village of Buffalo Grove Police Department often sets a speed trap on either side of the overpass. Because of the climb up the overpass, your view of the bottom is obscured. Therefore, by the time you see the officer in a parking lot on the north side of Lake Cook (when you are traveling WEST) or the 21/45 entrance ramp on the south side of Lake Cook(when you are traveling EAST) it’s too late.
