Mamou, Louisiana Speed Traps

Speed limit drops from 55 to 45Mph on Highway 13.. I didn’y notice,but I spend a lot of tme on the road,and I am very careful in small towns that a major higway runs thru.. I had slowed down fromm 55 to 50 Mph.. I was pulled over and charged with 52 Mph in a 45 .. Ticket fine was $175 ..I call this small town a speed trap and hope it is posted nationally.. It will be my last time going thru this place..

They now have a brand new dark grey F-150 pickup truck that sits on the side of LA 13. Looks like ordinary vehicle but when you get close enough you will know because he will stop you

The speed limit through Mamou on hwy 13 is 45 mph. In this 45 mph zone there is a intersection and on both sides of this intersection is a yellow 40 mph advisory sign. I thought advisory signs were not enforceable and the speed limit was really 45. I know of two people that were stopped there for going 46 and were told that the speed limit was 40, so they got a ticket for 46 in a 40. It cost one well over $200. This is pathetic that our so called police can take advantage of the public like this. This is truly a speed trap.
