I-91 South of Springfield

Springfield, MassachusettsMay 18, 20101 Comments

Two major traps here. One is a u-turn located under a mile north of the CT border that the Mass State police will sometimes use to monitor traffic.

The other is more interesting. Apparently the Mass Police have now gotten several undercover SUV-type vehicles (it’s really hard to believe because such vehicles can’t go very fast and aren’t great police vehicles, but it’s true). I’ve seen them twice this week on the southbound side. In total, I have passed three vehicles there that got nailed–two were tractor trailers, one was a dump truck, so I’d say preferential targeting of large vehicles.

Columbus Avenue South

They wait just at the end in the parking lot of Universal Joint. They hide in the bushes with radar guns. Columbus Avenue South is where the German Gerena School is and that’s a 30 mph speed zone. They will nail you here. I’ve been stopped at least three times here going just over 30 mph.

Corner of Northbranch Pkwy/Grayson DR and Parker St

Springfield, MassachusettsMar 25, 20100 Comments

They park N.Branch righ before the set of lights(next to the NO PARKING sign) so they see you go by in Parker St. Also qhen you make the left turn from N.Branch to Parker St make sure to go in the lane closest to the center…they will try to get you if you go in the far lane when making the left turn…

I 291 W drops to 45mph and dips under a bridge.
They see you before you see them.
