Pawtucket, Rhode Island Speed Traps

The speed limit on this road is 25 mph, however, there is a school zone with one speed limit sign for 20 mph that is behind a tree and not clearly visible (the school also looks more like a church than a school). Police only pull over traffic heading away from Mineral Spring (as the sign is clearly visible in the opposite direction). This trap seems to occur primarily in the Spring when it starts to get warm out. Many people are pulled over here.

The Police Officer parks his car between the Checker Club and the studio at the parking lot side of the Karate studio. The Police officer lurks in the shadows of the building holding the radar / laser gun close enough to his body so it can not be clearly seen. The dark blue cop suit blends right in – no cop hat worn- He pulls over drivers traveling in either direction. There is a school zone speed limit just before you run into the trap if you are coming from Newport Ave. A soon as you come out of the 20 mhp zone and begin to increase you speed to get your car out of second gear, you’re dead in his sights.
