Interstate 35E near Fort Worth Drive

Denton, TexasAug 01, 20070 Comments

Usually between four and eight different police officer vehicles. Usually happens at least once a week, sometimes twice a week. Most commonly happens from about 7:15am-11am. A lot of times they will have undercover police officers standing around looking like they are trying to cross the street, but they radio in speeders, seatbelt violators and inspection/registration expirations to officers in vehicles, and sometimes on motorcycles. Last week there were six police cars and two motorcycle cops busting people. Normally when you drive by there will be at least four people pulled over at a time.

University of North Texas Police Department (State Authorized Agency) will commonly patrol or sit at the Gateway Center just at the end of the median in the center of the road. Officer will often times be pointed towards I-35E and wait for people coming off the Freeway through the light. WARNING SPEED LIMIT IS 20MPH AS SOON AS YOU ENTER THE UNT CAMPUS! They will pull you over for doing 18. My advice do 15MPH.

Dallas Drive near Smith Street

Slow way down going down Dallas Drive towards Eagle (Northwest). Cops sit in the parking lots right around Smith Street and Alegre Vista Drive (Frenchy’s area), and pull people over who didn’t catch the 30 mph speed limit sign. If you’re exiting 35E onto Dallas Drive, the limit is 45. It drops down to 30 right past the Teasley intersection, but you really don’t notice the sign. I’ve had 4 friends pulled over in this exact spot!

Motorcycle police sit just on the south side of the hill to catch those heading south on Dallas Drive, or they will sit in the Auto Zone parking lot to catch those heading north on Dallas Drive.
