Tom Braniff Road near California Crossing

Irving, TexasOct 02, 20040 Comments

On tom braniff going towards california crossing there is a cop that now sits at the park hidden from view. People often race late at night and go very fast during the day, because it is a relatively long stretch of semi-hidden road.

Interstate 114 near Cistercian Road

Irving, TexasSep 10, 20040 Comments

Heading westbound on the service road of Interstate 114 as you reach Cistercian road there is a school zone where the speed limit in the mornings is 30 miles per hour. An officer waits at this intersection mounted in a motorcycle and checks the speed of everyone coming down the hill.

Service Road near 635 Expressway

Motorcycle cop(s) sit in parking lot entrance to stores like TGI Fridays and can get you as you’re coming around the curve with a lot of trees, etc. They use LASER! The speed limit is something very low (35 – 40). I was caught the first time but then bought a detector. Coming around the same bend the second time, the detector went crazy with laser detection.

Specifically, this is if you are traveling eastbound on 635 and take the MacArthur exit. There is about 2 miles of service road before you actually get to MacArthur. Very very easy to let the speed limit slip your mind. Right before you get to MacArthur, there’s a driveway to access store parking lots… They sit in that driveway.

Valley Ranch Parkway near US Highway 635

Irving, TexasApr 30, 20041 Comments

Valley Ranch Parway from Hwy 635 to MacArthur Blvd. Most enforced during the Am Rush hour and from around 11am to 1pm during the weekdays. At any point that the road curves and you can’t see the other side expect a police officer to be there. There is always a police officer monitoring either the elementary or high school speed zones. They will ticket any speed over the posted 20mph sign— even if it is only 3 mph over the limit.

State Highway 183 near Story Road

Irving, TexasApr 28, 20040 Comments

On the westbound service road to Airport Freeway right before Story Rd, there is an 8 foot hedge right next to an El Chico’s Restaurant that runs all the way up to the shoulder. I’ve seen a motorcycle cop hide behind this hedge off and on for the past 10 years and bust people exiting the freeway at this spot.
