Southlake, Texas Speed Traps
State Highway 114 East bound near Southlake Boulevard
114 expands to the new part of the highway. The speed limit goes from 50 to 65mph, but the officer sits at the entrance to the new highway and writes tickets to drivers who accelerate to the higher speed limit too soon.
Carroll Avenue near State Highway 114
On Carroll Avenue between state highway 114 and FM 1709 (near Southlake Town Square), motorcycle cop sits hidden by city government building on east side of Carroll or on entrance road to business park on west side of Carroll to catch folks going over the 30-mph speed limit. This limit was appropriate years ago when Carroll was a two-lane, asphalt road w/ potholes. Now it is four lanes and fairly newly paved, and going 30 mph will cause you to almost get rear-ended. Speed limit should definitely be raised.

South bound Carroll traffic, Motorcycle police often parked in 1 of 2 parking lots on west side across from the police station clocking south bound traffic. 30mph, better watch it!

The speed limit there is 30 and people are going 40 on that divided part of the road all the time. You’ll get pulled over and never realize you were even over the limit there.

Headed East on 114 a motorcycle unit enjoys sitting between the highway and the entrance ramp just after Carroll Ave. I have seen him there on multiple occaisions, I received a ticket there towards the end of the month, coincidence? Just watch out for him.
