Located at the sharp left bend near Telfair. Both K and Ka radar (car) and laser (motorcycle). Motorcycle cops tend to hide behind bushed in the median at the 90 degree corner, lasering drivers as they come over the brow of the hill. Car cops often hide of the side roads and in the median around the area. Used to be a 55mph limit. Now 35 mph, with most vehicles moving between 45 to 55 mph. Big revenue generator for the city. Have been lasered a couple of times, but most of the time, the cop is writing tickets for other motorists.

Every Sunday after church there is a speed trap on State Highway 6 from U.S. Alternate 90 to the Houston City Limits. Motorcycle DPS shoot the radar and about 1/2 mile up Hwy 6 will be 2-3 black and whites stopping the cars the radar caught. To my knowledge they ticket every stop.
The speed limit is 50 mph. I feel it is a valid situation, But beware, can count on them being there every Sunday.

There is a median that begins across from the park entrance if you are heading north (or ends if heading south) that the SLPD like to sit at. I’ve seen them there pretty much anytime during the day, but they especially like to sit there at night. Occasionally at night they’ll sit there without any lights on.
