Arlington, Virginia Speed Traps
GW Parkway
Heading southbound on the GW Parkway towards the airport, there’s a US Park Police officer that always has his car parked at the entrance of a gated service looking area and he is standing outside shooting his laser right as cars come around the bend. If you hit the straight away and you are speeding, it’s too late for you. He’ll go into the middle of traffic and flag you down to pull over. This happens on a Daily basis at all times of day! Morning, afternoon, evening there’s one cop posted there 80% of the time. Mostly out of towners or people unfamiliar with the road get hit with this, as everyone knows to slow down in time. I’ve never been hit with this one, but I’ve seen this on a daily basis during my commute to work.
Washington Boulevard near State Route 110
Officers hide on the HOV exit/entrance on Washington Blvd (Rt. 27) right by the pentagon. They step out and waive people over to the middle of the road. Completely unrealistic speed limit of 45, as this road does not have traffic lights and is basically a divided highway.
Eads Street near 12th Street
County officers on motorcycles parked off the street in front of Bennington apartments using radar mostly catching northbound traffic.
Wilson Boulevard near N. Manchester Street
Cop on foot lasering cars coming Eastbound on Wilson Blvd down the hill. Speed limit is a slow 30 mph. I got a ticket for going 40.
George Mason Drive near Between Washington & Wilson
One, sometimes two, cop(s) will sit on 10th Street just off of George Mason Dr. (right before the bridge that crosses over 66) and radar ppl driving between Washington Blvd. and Wilson Blvd. They pull you over on 10th.
