Arlington, Virginia Speed Traps
State Highway George Washington Memorial near GW Pkwy & Spoutrun Pkwy Crossing
Arlington County Police car is parked near the intersection of GW Pkwy and Spoutrun Pkwy. You will not be able to see the police car untill both lanes on Spoutrun Pkwy merge.
Columbia Pike Road
Speed limit is reduced from 40 MPH to 30 MPH just after the the hill moving west to east on Columbia Pike. You will see a Safeway in a strip mall to your left as you approach the peak of the hill. Laser enforcement sits at the bottom of the hill and generates incredible revenue for Arlington at hapless drivers’ expense. They will ticket you even if within the abrubtly-reduced 40 MPH limit. BEWARE!
US Highway George Washington Memorial Parkway, Northbound Lanes near Between National Airport and Gravelly Point
On the northbound lanes of the George Washington Memorial Parkway there is a discreetly positioned speed camera, immediately past Reagan National Airport, but before reaching the turn off for Gravelly Point. It is clearly visible from the southbound lanes, but is tucked behind a small grove of trees, and invisible from the northbound lanes. I’ve seen flashes from the box before, when traveling south, but I’m not sure how high the level of enforcement is.
State Highway Lee Highway near Exit Number I-66, exit 69
Officers dress in all black and will be found hiding behind their all black, unmarked car usually in a shadow on a sidestreet. I’ve seen them at Nottingham Rd. I’ve also observed them hiding out of the car under a large bush. Speed limit is 30, traffic flows at 45. No mercy, beware!
Glebe Road near Chain Bridge
As you travel towards Chain Bridge on Glebe Road or travel away from ChainBridge on Glebe Road, there is a sharp turn were a speed trap can be found almost daily.
