Seattle, Washington Speed Traps
Rainier Avenue near Massachusetts Street
Two officers on motorcycle hide beneath the underpass and on the sidewalk where Interstate 90 crosses over Rainier Ave S.
NW 15th Avenue near Ballard Bridge
At the north end of the Ballard bridge (northbound) Many mornings there will be a whole bunch (5+) of Motorcycle cops running radar on cars coming off of the Ballard bridge heading north on 15th. I work in a business on 15th and we watch many many revenue generating stops. They will swarm the area, so I now make sure to slow down on the South side of the bridge when coming into Ballard.
Genesee Avenue near 43 Avenue
The area is a park with soccer fields and dog walks on one side and park on other side. There is a light bend in the road in which the police sit there on a regular basis unseen until its too late. Higher enforcement during Seafair because the parking is used for race viewers as well as park users. Enforcement sits in parking area to restrict their visablity to drivers. I live in the area and see them giving tickets all the time. Better chance of getting ticket going east bound but due to the lack of enforcement visiablity but west bound has a hill before the trap so speeds will increase naturally.
Rainier Avenue near Orcas Street
In the flat stretch south of orcas avenuse there is a good chance you will see one to 5 officers ready to give you a ticket. they hide in the many parking lots and street corners and usually are very hard to see until it is too late. I drive this on a daily basis and this particular stretch is a common area to issue tickets to the unsupecting and tickets are given for speeds in excess of 7-10 mph with no warning tickets usually given.
Lake City Way near Around 107th Street
See a lot of state troopers along this stretch, mainly from 100-110th st. Fri and Sat. nights I see people get pulled over a lot.
