Aurora 99 Avenue near Woodland Park Zoo

Seattle, WashingtonJun 27, 20070 Comments

If you are driving on Aurora 99 (Highway 99)SOUTH towards Seattle, you may encounter an officer in a squad car speed-gunning on your right right before the Woodland Park Zoo.

So, if you are coming south on Aurora 99, you will pass Greenlake on your right and you will begin heading up that hill where the Woodland Park Zoo is on your right? Watch Out on Friday mornings, that’s where the cop sits. It’s a perfect position because people speed in the right lane to get around other cars before the third lane merges back into two lanes at the top of the hill, and the cop can pull Right out behind you after tagging you and pull you over.

Only noticed this guy on Friday mornings.

Once a week usually on Tuesday’s they do saturation enforcement on a stretch of highway that can clearly support higher speeds.. the only danger comes from the police cars racing back to the starting spot near 40th Ave N

Magnolia Bridge Street near 15th West Avenue

Seattle, WashingtonJun 08, 20070 Comments

At the fish warehouse on the north side of the bridge, halfway up, there is often radar aimed at westbound cars coming up the ramps from Elliott Ave/15th Ave W. The posted limit is 30 mph which feels very slow.

State Highway 520 near Evergreen Point Bridge

Occasional police car on the shoulder eastbound on 520, 50 feet before the start of the 520 bridge. The car can’t easily be seen until you are in radar range. I’ve only seen them in the evening and only in good weather.
