Calle Concordia west of Oracle

Tucson, ArizonaSep 09, 20030 Comments

Marked car sits in parking lot in front of Canyon Del Oro high school in evening. Posted speed limit is 25 mph on this major east-west surface street. All other through main roads in this area have a speed limit of 40 or 45 except this one. The police target parents coming and going from kids’ sporting events at Dennis Weaver Park next to high school (on east side of high school). Radar is monitoring cars going in and coming out of park.

"UNMARKED" police car – black car with small white "police" letters on the sides of the car, lights inside of car, no front rails – watch out, they’re getting tricky!!

6th Just West of Campbell, at UofA football staduim parking lot

Tucson, ArizonaJul 07, 20030 Comments

Motorcycle cops, I’ve seen at the most 6, at the least 2, line up under the trees on the north side of 6th street, just west of campbell, right at the crosswalk intersection, across from Circle K. (UofA football staduim) They are here nearly EVERY morning during the school semesters and will get you guaranteed, they pull you over in the next parking lot just down the road. Be careful here, the speed limit is only 35!

I-10W at Exit 273 / Rita Road

Tucson, ArizonaApr 10, 20030 Comments

DPS will sit in the median of Rita Rd. north of the overpass, in a position to observe the oncoming westbound traffic (before the exit). They have an excellent view of the traffic and are almost impossible to see from the freeway, especially at night. If they decide to get you, they jump right onto the on-ramp and will catch up with you within a mile or so. The speed limit in this area is 75, but the flow of traffic is frequently ~85. The limit drops to 65 a few miles west of this exit.

I-10W at Exit 269 / Wilmot Rd.

Tucson, ArizonaApr 10, 20030 Comments

DPS will sit in a parking lot just north of the freeay and observe your speed as you go over Wilmot Rd. If they decide to get you, they jump right onto the on-ramp and catch up within a mile or so. Because this parking lot is below the freeway overpass, they are almost impossible to see – but they can still see you. Posted limit in this area is 65, but traffic frequently flows at ~75.
