Tucson, Arizona Speed Traps
Rita Road
This is complicated. This happened on Rita Road in Tucson, AZ. I think the parents of the students at the Vail School District AZ. I think the parents of the Vail School District complained to the Tucson Police about people from the University of Arizona Technology Park on Rita Road exceeding tne limit of 40 MPH. I got clocked at 50 MPH in July, 2002. Fine was 100 dollars. Do not go over 40 MPH on Rita Road in Tucson while the Vail School District is in session.
Houghton Road; Speedway to Snyder
Pima county sheriff deputies work this stretch. I usually see them between catalina Hwy and speedway. In all fairness it is a narrow 2-lane road, many pedestrians use the shoulder, and new houses are constantly being built in the area.
Houghton Road; Golf links to Snyder
Pima county swarms this stretch, most of which is posted at 45- Seems unreasonable considering this is a two-lane road with little traffic and few driveways.
On Glenn between Swan and Craycroft
Motorcycle cop is stationed on south side of road just prior to school zone. The posted speed limit is 25 mph and this is strictly enforced. Cop will radar as far as the light at swan and glenn so maintain a safe speed.
Aviation Hwy(SR210) from Country Club to Broadway
Officer hides under Kino Pkwy bridge. Hard to see him until it’s too late. This is one of the few well-built sections of the Aviation Hwy.
