Louisville, Kentucky Speed Traps
New cut Road near outer Loop
A new stretch of newcut rd. which is 4 lanes with a turning lane in the middle, is posted 35 mph.Unmarked as well as marked police cars sit off the roadway sometimes by a cocrete wall, sometimes in a florist driveway and radar. They have them pulled over one after another! Be-ware!
Interstate 71
The are numerous speed traps along I-71 between Louisville and Cincinnati. Rader detectors are sometimes helpful but most traps are located on top of exiting lanes entering the interstate. Radar detectors will alarm after passing the exit and it’s already too late.
Crittenden Drive near North of Grade Lane
A new continuation of Crittenden Dr. It’s a wide 4 lane at south west end of Lou. Int. Airport with no residental or bussinesses. It has a 35 mph speed limit. Almost impossible to do if not mindful of speed.Marked patrol cars set in different places.
Watterson Expressway
I264 Watterson Xway Silver Camaro hides in shadows of overpasses , blends with concrete medians . Speed is posted 55 , hard to do , its the city cash cow , couldn’t say when kast survey was made by an engineer .
Trevilian Way near The Louisville Zoo/Joe Creason Park
When driving on Trevilian Way heading from Newburg Road toward Poplar Level Road, Cruisers tend to be waiting for people going over 40MPH (Speed Limit is 35MPH). The problem here is, during Spring and Summer the only posted Speed Limit sign this direction is obstructed by tree overgrowth. This has been this way for a few years now, a while back I got somebody out of a ticket in this area using photographic evidence of the obstruction. Surprisingly, nothing has been done about it. However, during the Winter the sign is visible.
My advice on this stretch of road is to not exceed 40MPH unless you know you’re safe.
