Capitol Avenue near St. Joseph Street

Lansing, MichiganApr 01, 20050 Comments

Speed limit is not posted anywhere between Michigan Avenue and St. Joseph going South on Capital Avenue. People can assume that it is 35 mph as are most of the surrounding streets. The fact is that the speed limit is 25 mph. Do not follow the flow of traffic which obviously thinks it is 35. You will receive a ticket. A patrol car sits back on a side street and will get you every time. They can take their pick because all are doing 35 mph.

Interstate 496 near Exit Number 8

Lansing, MichiganNov 08, 20040 Comments

Going east in I-496 right before exit 8, there’s almost always a LPD car or motorcycle. I’ve seen them all times of the day, they are mostly there in the morning and evening. They usually pull over people going west on 496. The posted speed limit is 55. I’m not sure how fast you have to go to get them to pull you over
