Lyndale Avenue near 49th Avenue

Minneapolis, MinnesotaApr 08, 20040 Comments

Frontage road on East side of Hwy 94 connecting 49th Avenue North and 53rd Avenue North. This road leads directly to the on-ramp for 94 West. Posted as residential (30mph), but there are no houses and no businesses. Officer stated that the road is not zoned correctly (should be 45mph). Have seen as many as 4 cruisers waiting to pull motorists over during evening rush hour and at night. Cruisers like to sit out of sight behind a large road sign for Hwy94 traffic.

US Highway 55 near Lake St bridge

Cops love to sit either right on the median over the bridge or JUST past it (northbound) trying to nab people.

US Highway 55 near Minnehaha Parkway

Cops will sit either IN or at the ends of the tunnel between 46th and 50th streets. With the bend of the tunnel you are unable to see the squad car until it is too late. The speed limit was recently raised to 40mph, but it is easy to get going faster. So watch yourself there!

Plymouth Avenue bridge heading west toware Boom Island

Two police cars. One sits at the base of the Plymouth Avenue bridge on the road & a 2nd sits on Boom Island. For those of you unfamiliar with this road, the trap is a little unfair. It is a 30 mph zone, but you almost can’t even make yourself go that slow because you are coming down a pretty steep hill. I have received a ticket there & I’ve seen many others. Ever time I’ve ever been by when the trap is set up, there is always at least one car being pulled over & often two.

8th St. NE or Plymouth Avenue between 2nd Ave. N and Marshall St. NE

Minneapolis, MinnesotaJul 09, 20030 Comments

I have seen MPLS PD officers on the side of the bridge as you approach Marshall with radar guns tagging multiple vechicles. They generally sit by Boom Island Park or by Scherer Brothers Lumber. The bridge has a fairly steep descent and it is hard to go 30 mph over the bridge without being run off of the road by other drivers.
